Attention Physician

We are inviting you to participate in our network of Independent Medical Examination (IME) providers who are top notch and are part of our service delivery model. Our model is to support employers in their desire to increase productivity and return healthy employees to the workplace.

We believe the injured worker should be treated with the same sense of urgency as the professional athlete.

We are committed to our employers and providers to offer quality exams and/or treatment and prompt payment. Our IME providers will receive reimbursement within 14 business days of submission of final report pending compliance with Bill of Rights (see attached).

Our selected providers will not only have a background in quality treatment but will possess an understanding and appreciation of the changing workers compensation regulations in New York State. Workplace Health Solutions, Inc. will assist providers to adhere to guidelines to ensure independent medical examinations are conducted in accordance with the Workers Compensation Law.

Provider Bill of Rights

Providers will be practicing or retired, board certified, in good standing and with excellent credentials and meet eligibility requirements.

Credentials/authorizations will be referenced with the State Boards of Education and the New York State Workers Compensation Board.

Provide high quality independent medical exams, second opinions, and record reviews to existing customers that include self insured/administered employers, third party administrators, carriers, and attorneys.

Providers will accept appointments same day receipt of referral. Where demand dictates, block time is preferred for ease of scheduling. Appointment dates will be given to Workplace Health Solutions, Inc. that are within 10-14 business days of receipt of referral.

Providers will conduct exams in their own office space or if necessary office space be provided/rented by Workplace Health Solutions, Inc..

Providers will adhere to Workplace Health Solutions, Inc. report template that will be provided along with IME 4.

Reports will be dictated same day of physical exam. Reports will be transcribed and a draft will be received electronically and reviewed by Workplace Health Solutions, Inc. by noon of second business day of scheduled exam. Dictation services will be provided if necessary.

As part of the quality assurance process, all questions and unaddressed items will be responded to within one business day of request.

Completed reports will be electronically submitted to Workplace Health Solutions, Inc. for mailing. Original IME 4 with original provider signature will be mailed and retained.

In the event of a reexamination, necessary medicals and original report will be provided by Workplace Health Solutions, Inc..

All medical records will be scanned and retained electronically by Workplace Health Solutions, Inc. for seven years.

Workplace Health Solutions, Inc. has the financial ability to reimburse providers for services within 14 business days of exam pending receipt of final report and adherence to above guidelines.

Workplace Health Solutions, Inc. will assist providers to adhere to guidelines to ensure independent medical examinations are conducted in accordance with Worker’s Compensation Law (sections 13-a, 13-b, 13-d, 13-k, 13-l, 13-m, 13-n and 137).
